Augmented reality museum interactive

Created for the Science Museum’s Atmosphere gallery in London, Carbon Cycle AR is an augmented reality installation that helps visitors explore the systems affecting Earth’s carbon cycle. Physical AR blocks represent different components of the cycle; moving them changes a richly illustrated and animated digital environment in real time.

Developed before today’s mainstream AR frameworks existed, the installation used our proprietary augmented reality technology to create a robust public-facing museum experience. Carbon Cycle AR received a Webby Award in 2011 and was shortlisted for a Museum + Heritage Award.
