Nightsss – VR ASMR Animation

Immersive VR poem combining dance and spatial audio

Nightsss is a virtual erotic poem combining VR animation, ASMR, spatial sound, dance and interactive elements. Based on spoken-word poetry by Weronika Lewandowska, the work uses the sounds and rhythms of the Polish language to create an onomatopoeic landscape that can be experienced beyond literal translation.

The viewer enters a virtual night environment where the poet’s spatialised voice leads towards a dancing figure whose organic movement blends with her digital body. Created in 6DoF for Oculus Rift S as part of the Film School in Łódź’s vnLab programme, Nightsss premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and received the Best VR Sound Design award at the 2021 Cinequest Film Festival.
