As part of Yoko Ono’s summer exhibition ‘Into the Light’ we were commissioned to build a photography booth, a content management system, and a workflow for moderators to review and broadcast the images across social media.
We developed a ‘smile recognition’ photo booth, that only snaps if you’re smiling. The photos were uploaded to a cloud server where they were reviewed and moderated. Approved smiles were shared across social channels and pushed back to the gallery space where they appeared on a big screen.
We met Yoko Ono and shared 20,000 smiles with the world in three months.
