In 2013 the UK’s most digitally advanced shopping destination opened its doors. Land Securities wanted an interactive digital media space to help define Trinity Leeds as an “experience” destination – rather than simply a place to shop. As part of the channel strategy for Trinity, Grand Visual developed a series of “Wonder Experiences” to enhance the shopping and leisure experience for an increasingly connected consumer audience.
On behalf of GrandVisual we provided lead development services for 4 interactive “Wonder Experiences”. Each experience had to scale across 3 different wall setups – 5760 x 1920 with 3 depth cameras, 3840 x 1080 with 2 depth cameras, and 1920 x 1080 with 1 depth camera.
One of the biggest challenge in this project was working with Panasonic DImager depth cameras (back then only device which could work in daylight) and combining depth information from multiple cameras into one surface.
