TRIVIA

Munchingsquare takes its name from Munching Squares, one of the earliest examples of real-time generative computer graphics, created around 1962 on the PDP-1 - an early computer and a landmark machine in the emergence of computer graphics and hacker culture.

Munching Squares employs a remarkably simple computation - repeatedly plotting Y = X XOR T for successive values of T - to produce an unexpectedly complex display of moving and growing squares that appear to devour the screen.
